My story
Self-love, Self-esteem, Positivity, Self-growth
Sowing the Seeds
I am just a gardener
I only sow the seeds
Watering the soil in earnest,
That's my tiny deed
Which one takes root and
Which one overtakes the weed.
That's not for me to know,
Neither should it be my need!
I am just a gardener
I only sow the seeds
The sun and rain, unfailingly
Must do their bit, indeed!
Sometimes the wind blows strong
Or makes music as gentle breeze.
Showering these benevolent blessings
The hand nurtures the seeds
I am just a gardener
I only sow the seeds
- Dr Bijal Maroo
Right from the initial years of my practice, I started observing many women who were smart, beautiful, intelligent and independent, but yet they chose to stay in abusive relationships. I repeatedly questioned them to know the reason for taking such abuse. Their helplessness and unwillingness to step out of these situations completely foxed me. This question nagged at me for many many years. Slowly I uncovered that the reason lay hidden at a sub-conscious level for most of the women.

I learnt that the main disease that plagues a better part of the population especially women, is an acute lack of self-esteem. We tell ourselves negative stories and wallow in the mire of our self- made suffering as a result. If we can build a huge reservoir of self- love in our hearts and surround ourselves with positivity, life will become a breeze. This is because, we have then changed the way we deal with the challenges that life throws our way.

With about 20 years of experience as a counselling psychologist and homeopath, under my belt, I have now ventured into making a podcast+blog, to share the insights I have gained over the years. I am also an arts based therapy practitioner. I believe that the various arts forms especially stories and songs, mindfulness and meditation can bring about learning and change in a very smooth, effortless manner.

I have grown professionally and personally because of my patients. My patients stimulate my introspective nature and my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of them.
I indulge my literary leanings by writing poetry, short stories and articles, journaling and reading voraciously.
